GPS Antenna Systems
The Beam Alert/Monitoring Interface units support various
types of GPS antenna inputs in order to provide flexibility
of installation within various applications.
The Alert/Monitoring Interface RST030 has a built in GPS
engine and provides an SMA plug for connecting either an Active
or Passive GPS antenna to the terminal.

Active L1 GPS Antenna Helix / Patch
An active GPS antenna is powered through from the
GPS engine inside the RST030 Alert/Monitoring terminal. Active
GPS antennas are high gain and thereby enable a much thinner lighter
cable to be deployed for various applications.
Passive L1 GPS Patch Antenna
A passive GPS antenna is a GPS antenna that is not powered and
therefore has a much lower gain. Passive antennas require a heavier
coaxial cable to be used to compensate for it being high loss.
Intelligent / Smart GPS Antenna
GARMIN GPS 16 will deliver the accuracy you need for precise position
reporting. This GPS sensor has an integrated antenna housed in
a rugged, waterproof design.
The 12-channel receiver allows for continuous tracking of all
visible satellites. Being a serial based signal typically Cat5
type cable can be used over long distances.
Combined Iridium / GPS Antenna
There are two options for combined Iridium / GPs antenna. All
GPS antennas are of the active patch type. The two options include
the choice of a helix or patch Iridium antenna interface.
