Marketing Applications
The RST310 is designed for all remote communications applications for mobile or fixed use. These markets include Maritime, Transport, Defence, Emergency Services, Mining, Construction, and Recreational users and the like.
RJ-11 / PSTN Emulation
The IntelliDOCK provides an intelligent RJ11/POTS interface emulating all the standard features of a PSTN (Public Telephone Service) telephone service. The user operates the connected equipment as though using a standard telephone connection, as the unit is equipped to provide selectable line voltages and currents for ring and service tones, along with off-hook detection. The Intelligent interface allows for easy installation providing flexibility for maximum run cable length from the RJ11 port as well as the use of cordless and corded telephone equipment.
 Intelligent Handset Interface
The RJ-45 Connector enables the use of an Intelligent handset for compact convenient including built in ring alert and SMS functionality .
(Cannot be used simultaneously with RJ11 Port ) PBX / In-building Integration
The IntelliDOCK can be easily integrated into a PBX system using the RJ11 connectivity.
This enables calls to be made or received from any extension within a building via the satellite network.
In-building integration is ideal for lower costs satellite to satellite calling as well as emergency backup to the PSTN networks.
Alert / Tracking Interface
 The RJ-45 Connector enables the use of an Intelligent handset for compact convenient including built in ring alert and SMS functionality .

 The Beam Remote Satellite Terminal allows the use of an SMS POTS handset. SMS POTS is a new feature that enables selected standard type telephone handsets to support SMS functionality previously only available on more expensive Intelligent Type handsets.
The specialised handsets connect to the RST310’s RJ11 connector and enable SMS messages to be sent, received and stored in the same way as a cellular phone operates. Cordless and corded options are available. Fixed / Mobile Applications The IntelliDOCK can easily be adapted to be used in conjunction with specialised installations. Some of these applications include Rural Community communications, In-vehicle and away from vehicle Communications and other applications where a mix of fixed and mobile communications is required. In-Vehicle Use
 The Beam In-vehicle Hands-free kit for the 9505A provides the flexibility of having the IntelliDOCK for fixed location use whilst having the ability to have full hands-free voice communications and data connectivity for in-vehicle requirements.
The optional In-vehicle hands-free kit for the provides the flexibility of having a fully integrated system into any type of vehicle for safe hands-free use.
Power Inputs / Backup Battery
 The IntelliDOCK terminal is supplied with a universal AC power supply. The unit can also be connected directly to an 11–32V DC input.
An optional Beam Battery Backup, can provide 24 hours standby time and 2 hours of talk time. The terminal is also capable of being Solar Powered.
Configuration
The IntelliDOCK is installed with proprietary firmware that enables quality management and configuration of the terminal at anytime. The terminal is controlled using a user front end called the Beam Management System (BMS).
The terminal can be configured either locally using the BMS or remotely using SMS commands. This is ideal for remote parameter changes, diagnostics and configuration.
The unit is supplied with generic international defaults, however many of the parameters can be configured for local or specialised customisation.
Phone Number Processing
The RJ11 port is capable of being programmed to pre-empt such dialing codes as the international access of “00” country codes and or area codes. The intelligent number processing is ideal for various applications to enable ease use by any user. It is also possible to enable the programming of direct Emergency Number Numbers and short code voicemail box numbers as required.
Installation
The RST310 can be deployed for various applications. Selecting an appropriate antenna and antenna cable for the installation is very important for optimum performance. Mounting brackets, configuration CD and a 110/240 AC/DC plug pack is included with the terminal. The RST310 provides great flexibility for various installations. The RJ11 socket will support 3 REN, which allows long distances of standard telephone wire to be run. This minimizes the need for long antenna cable runs in most installations. When using the Intelligent handset consideration must be given to the proximity to the terminal as this distance is limited to the handset cable length.
